REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR 2025!
For those looking for additional information about joining our football family I wanted to provide an overview of each program. As always, reach out will questions. Our football program supports K-12th grade football players, around 500 football players each season!
Grades: K-2 Flag: practice once per week and a game on Sunday at Field 15. Coaches will have a group of 7-10 players. They will focus on the basics of football. Gear needed: comfortable shoes and water! Flags and game day shirts will be provided. Season to start after Labor Day.
Grades 3/4 Lil Scots: This is our introduction to tackle football! When you register you will receive a game day and practice jersey, football pants, helmet and shoulder pads to use for the season. You will also need a mouth guard (provided) and football cleats are recommended. Practices are twice a week, typically Tuesday and Thursday with inter squad games on Sunday all at Field 15. Practices will start the first or second week of August.
Grades 5/6 Youth: Practices are three days per week, typically Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Games are Sunday mornings at Field 15. There is typically 2-3 teams depending on registration numbers and coaches availability. Practices start the first or second week of August. Same gear is provided as 3/4.
Middle School 7/8: This is the year we transition to playing for the Southern Maine Youth Football League (SMYFL) and playing other school teams. 8th grade will play for the “gold ball” championship game based of regular season stats. SMYFL will determine the schedule and is usually posted in June. It is a mix of home and away games as well as playoff games. Practices for middle school start the first Monday of August and are Monday-Friday. The first week of practice is conditioning no pads. Second week is conditioning with pads. Scrimmage weekends will start in August and communicated by the head coaches. Players will receive a home and away uniform, helmet, shoulder pads, practice pants and jersey and mouth guard. Cleats are needed.
We use sports engine to communicate as much as possible if games/practice dates/times need to change and to connect with the team as needed. Make ups due to weather are coaches discretion. One fundraiser to support the program is done in September and we ask for all players to participate by selling raffle tickets. These funds are what support the program buying new equipment, gear, participate in programs etc.
Our biggest fundraiser is the Bonny Eagle Car Show, scheduled rain or shine Sunday May 18th. We are looking forward to this event and hoping for sunshine! If you are able to volunteer please check out our sign up genius!
Special camps:
June: middle school camp (grades 7/8). Cleats and water needed. June 24-26 6-8pm
July: Youth 5/6 skills camp. Cleats and water needed, watch out for registration coming out soon! Dates: 7/15-7/17 5-7pm
August: Coach Coopers Clinic: free and open to grades 3-6
Lastly, this program is run by some amazing board members but we can’t do it without all of you! With the amount of athletes we have if everyone could chip in with a couple volunteer sessions through out the season it will ensure our players have an amazing season. Whether you help hold the chains at a football game, work in the concession stand or any of the other areas we would be so grateful. There’s nothing better than showing our players how a community can come together to support them! Please watch for emails and updates on our Facebook page. You can find more information about the volunteer positions on the webpage under the Volunteer section.
